BEASISWA PEMERINTAH JERMAN (The Government of Germany DAAD Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance (PPGG) for Indonesia)




The programme is designed to academically qualify future leaders in politics, law, economics and administration according to the principles of Good Governance and to prepare them in a praxis-oriented course for their professional life. The programme offers very good graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) the chance to obtain a Master’s degree in disciplines that are of special relevance for the social, political and economic development of their home country. With the knowledge and experience acquired in Germany the scholarship holders should later contribute to the establishment of democratically devised economic and social systems aimed at overcoming social tensions. In addition, the training at German institutions of higher education should especially qualify the scholarship holders as partners in political and economic cooperation with Germany. With this programme, DAAD intends to contribute to the support of Good Governance and civil society structures in selected partner countries and regions.

Target group: Who can apply?

Very well qualified Indonesian graduates with a first university degree (Bachelor or equivalent) who want to actively contribute to the social, political and economic development of their home countries as future leaders. The scholarships are offered both for young graduates without professional experience and for mid-career professionals. What is fundable? Scholarships for (generally) two-year Master courses at a German institution of higher education. The successful candidates will study on selected Master courses with one of the following focuses:

  • Development and Governance
  • Public Policy
  • Management in non-profit Organizations
  • Democratic Governance and Society

The courses have an international orientation and are taught in German or English or bilingual. The scholarship holders will study in groups and be offered special tutoring at their host institutions. Furthermore, there is the possibility of networking-events for participants in different courses and their attendance at tailor-made summer-schools.All scholarship holders will be placed in German courses for normally 6 months before taking up their Master studies. This also applies to scholarship holders in Master courses taught in English.DAAD pays a monthly scholarship rate of currently 750 € plus contributions to health insurance in Germany. In addition, DAAD grants an appropriate travel allowance as well as a study and research subsidy and in applicable cases rent subsidies and / or family allowances.


Requirements/main selection criteria

In addition to the study results achieved so far, the main criterion for selection is a convincing description of the subject-related and personal motivation for the study project in Germany and the expected benefit after the return to the home country.For Master courses taught in German or in German and English language, good German knowledge, ideally at completed A 2 level (basic level at Goethe-Institut) at the time of application is an advantage, as the universities generally require good German knowledge. For courses taught in English documented good English knowledge (generally a minimum of 550/80 international TOEFL scores) is required.The university degree should have been obtained during the last six years before the application for the scholarship. Applicants cannot be considered if they have been in Germany for more than one year at the time of application. All Master courses have further additional requirements that must be fulfilled by the applicants at any case.Application papers Please submit the following application papers (English or German) in duplicate:

  1. DAAD Form (see attachment or download from http://jakarta.daad.de/download/ApplicationFormDAAD.pdf)
  2. A full curriculum vitae
  3. A motivation letter containing a precise description of the applicant’s academic or professionals and personal reasons for wishing to participate in the program.
  4. Two letters of recommendation of recent date, e.g. from current or former employer and from your previous academic supervisor (in English or German)
  5. Certified copies of academic degree certificates obtained, together with English or German translation
  6. Certified copies of the academic transcript, covering the complete duration of academic studies, together with English or German translation
  7. Any German language certificate and / or English language certificate (TOEFL 550/80 points or IELTS Band 6; please submit international TOEFL)
  8. The admission letter from German university is not required.

DAAD cannot consider incomplete applications.Applications have to be made for maximum of two Master courses listed below. Studying on a Master course not included in the list cannot be funded within this program.The decision on the award of scholarships will be taken by a selection committee composed of professors from the Master courses and representatives of DAAD.

Ajinomoto Master Scholarship for ASEAN International Students 2011, Malayasia

This program enables students from five ASEAN countries (Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Vietnam) wishing to enroll in a master’s course (majors in Agricultural and Life Science field) at the University of Tokyo, to secure scholarship before their arrival in Japan. It aims to cultivate individuals capable of leading Asia in the twenty-first century and to contribute to the development of Asia and the world as well as to mutual understanding between these countries and Japan.

Applicants who wish to enroll in a master’s course and in majors in Agricultural and Life Science field (except medicine and veterinary medicine) at the University of Tokyo and who fulfill the following requirements and qualifications:

  1. Applicants must be citizens of Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, or Vietnam.
  2. Applicants must have graduated or be expected to graduate with an excellent academic record (with 16 years of education completed or expected to be completed) and must receive the recommendation of their university president or academic advisor or be otherwise qualified to enroll in the University of Tokyo.
  3. Applicants must be under the age of 35 on April 01, 2011.
  4. In principle, the applicant must be able to obtain approval of acceptance as a Postgraduate International Research Student (hereinafter “Research Student”), from the University of Tokyo and be registered as a Research Student for April 2011 or October 2011.
  5. Applicants must have adequate Japanese language proficiency to study as the master’s course student of the University of Tokyo (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1 or equivalent). Applicants must be able to pass at least Level 3 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (hereinafter “JLPT”) In a test administered no later than December 2011 (candidates wishing to enter as a Research Student).
  6. Applicants must apply from the above 5 countries and be able to attend selection procedures when necessary.
  7. Applicants must be in good physical and mental health and have a strong motivation for learning.

Program ini ditujukan untuk mereka yang berminat dalam program research student di perguruan tinggi di Jepang.

Peminat pada waktu menjalani research student diperbolehkan melamar ke program degree (S-2 / S-3 / professional graduate course) atau meneruskan program S-3 setelah menyelesaikan program S-2 / professional graduate course, apabila lulus seleksi tes ujian yang diberikan oleh universitas yang bersangkutan.

Peminat juga dapat langsung masuk ke program degree tanpa mengikuti research student apabila telah mendapatkan izin dari universitas yang bersangkutan. Beasiswa diberikan tanpa ikatan dinas, mencakup biaya kuliah dan biaya hidup.

PERSYARATAN

Lahir pada dan setelah tanggal 2 April 1976.

IPK minimal 3.0 dari tingkat perguruan tinggi terakhir (atau nilai EJUminimal 260 dalam jumlah 2 mata ujian tidak termasuk Bahasa Jepang)

Nilai TOEFL-PBT minimal 550 atau TOEFL-CBT minimal 213 atau TOEFL-IBT minimal 79 atau ekuivalen, atau nilai Japanese Language Proficiency Test minimal level 2.

Memilih bidang studi yang sama dengan disiplin ilmu sebelumnya.

Bersedia belajar Bahasa Jepang.

Sehat jasmani dan rohani.

Pelamar harus membaca dan memahami lampiran keterangan secara teliti.

Formulir dapat diambil di Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang, Konsulat Jenderal Jepang di Surabaya dan Medan atau bisa download dari halaman ini.

Formulir beserta dokumen yang diminta harus dibawa/ dikirim langsung ke Bagian Pendidikan Kedutaan Besar Jepang di Jakarta (bukan ke Konsulat Jenderal Jepang).

Pendaftaran dibuka pada tanggal 12 April 2009 sampai dengan tanggal 12 Mei 2009.

TAHAP PENYELEKSIAN

Kedutaan Besar Jepang melakukan seleksi dokumen, dan akan memberitahukan kepada mereka yang lolos 1 (satu) minggu sebelum ujian tertulis. (Kurang lebih 100 pelamar dipilih melalui seleksi dokumen ini.)

Ujian tertulis Bahasa Jepang dan Bahasa Inggris akan dilaksanakan di Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan pada awal Juli 2010. (Bahasa Inggris sebagai ujian pilihan. Nilai yang lebih tinggi akan dipakai untuk pertimbangan seleksi.)

Wawancara akan diadakan di Jakarta bagi seluruh peserta ujian tertulis dari pada bulan Juli 2010 sesuai dengan jadwal yang sudah ditentukan oleh Kedubes Jepang (biaya transportasi dan akomodasi tidak disediakan Kedubes Jepang).

Bagi yang lolos seleksi di Kedubes Jepang, akan diberikan surat keterangan sbb: 1 (satu) berkas formulir beserta dokumen yang telah diberi stamp Kedubes Jepang, surat keterangan untuk perguruan tinggi di Jepang, dan lembar “Letter of Acceptance”. Pelamar boleh memilih maksimal 3 (tiga) perguruan tinggi untuk mendapatkan izin penerimaan sebagai mahasiswa program degree atau research student, atau “Letter of Acceptance” (izin penerimaan tidak resmi) sebagai research student.

Asian Students Cultural Association.

Harap mengirimkan surat izin atau Letter of Acceptance dari perguruan tinggi Jepang secepat mungkin ke Kedubes Jepang.

Kedubes Jepang akan merekomendasikan peserta ke MEXT.

Peserta akan menjadi penerima beasiswa jika lolos seleksi di MEXT.
